Ashley Shana Hines, 36, of Commerce finished her journey on Wednesday evening November 30, 2022 at UT Southwestern Hospital in Dallas, TX. She was born on May 3, 1986 in Sulphur Springs, TX to Don Reed and Wanda Hines. She attended and graduated from Commerce High School. After graduation, she was employed by Sodexo on the campus of Texas A&M Commerce until her health declined.
Ashley enjoyed being a mom. Her whole life revolved around her 2 girls. She loved family outings and being surrounded by family. She loved to talk on the phone and be social with everyone. Ashley was a strong resilient woman. She persevered a great storm and never lost faith. She loved her children and family and would do anything for them. She was the fighter of the family.
Ashley is well known in the Commerce community and will be remembered by many. She knows no strangers. Ashley was a kind spirit. She touched a lot of people. She was as honest as they come, regardless if it was good or bad.
Left to cherish her memories are her parents, her daughters: Makayah Harmon and Maryah Kelly; sisters: Crystal Hines and Quiana Kelley; brothers: Byron Hines, Derek Hines and Brandon Sims; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers Mattie Hines and Lena Barnett, great-grandmother Rosie Hines and uncles and aunts.
A funeral service celebrating Ashley’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Commerce with Rev. David Savage officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Kandaris Crosby, Chris Luckey, Jeremy Luckey, Cedric Hines, Raymond Deleon and Issac Reynolds.
Interment will follow at Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce.
