Wanda Joy Pruitt, 83, of Greenville, passed away on June 23, 2019 in Greenville. Celebration of Life service will be 2 P.M., Friday, June 28, 2019 at Shady Grove Baptist Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Visitation will be 12:30 P.M. until service time. with Rev. Tim Mabe and Dr. James Ralson officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Pruitt was born September 8, 1935 in Greenville, Texas to Hugh Tenor Armstrong and Gladys Arena Dawson. She married Lloyd Franklin Pruitt in Shady Grove Baptist Church on June 8, 1956. She worked as a secretary for the City of Campbell, Office of Campbell Water Supply, Postmaster relief for Campbell and from age 15 until 1973 worked at Kress in Greenville. She was a member of the PTA and Room Mother for many years for Campbell School, a Bible School Teacher and Sunday School Teacher for many years at Shady Grove Baptist Church and was a foster parent with CPS for many years, having cared for 37 children.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Pruitt of Campbell; daughter, Lisa Pruitt of Campbell; grandchildren, Darrell White, Tyler Moore, William Brown and Bartholomew Brown.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Greg Rhodes, John Rhodes, Josh Dawson, James Dawson, David Dawson, and Daren Dawson.
