Chester Dewayne Harris, 71, of Campbell, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024, at Baylor Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Chester was born March 28, 1952, in Gilmer, Texas, to the late Clarence and Cassie (Richardson) Harris.

The youngest of nine children, Chester quickly loved and claimed the title of “The Baby”.

Chester’s love of dancing and music showed even at a young age, earning him the nickname from his brothers and sisters of Bee Bop (Beep). Chester Grew up with his family in and around Hunt County. If you saw Chester around, you could guarantee at least 3 or 4 of his brothers and sisters were somewhere close.

Chester married his lifetime partner and his Sweet Pea, Wynell Lowe, on January 10, 1969, in Lone Oak, Texas. They were married 52 years before her passing.

Chester loved riding jet skis with his daughter, grandson, and brother. Loved “his bar” Bar Texas. Loved Paintball with his family. As well as dirt bike riding with his grandson.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother: Aubrey Harris and wife Linda; daughters: Dee and husband James Cranfill of Cash, Jamie Harris of Campbell; Son: Charles Horne of Palestine; Son-in-law: Eddie Weatherbee of Royse City; granddaughters: Courtney and husband Dakota Nichlson of Commerce, Rebecca and husband Kevin Hurd of Royce City; his shadow, his boy, his Grandson Jaeson Harris and wife Tirzah of Ladonia; grandson: Joey Weatherbee of Colorado; grandson: Japheth  and Jeriah Cranfill of Cash Texas.

Chester is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Wynell Harris; daughter, Twyla Weatherbee; granddaughter, Rachel Harris; 5 sisters and 2 brothers.

Pallbearers: Anthony Austin, Eric Austin, Larry Johnson, Larry Coker, Johnny Jackson, Jeff Harris. The officiant will be Randy Meeks.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that anyone who is able to donate to BSW Nero-Oncology Foundation at 301 N. Washington – 4th Floor Dallas, Texas 75241.
