Clifford Carl Clark (CCC), 93, of Celeste, passed away on January 16, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be Friday at 1:00 PM, with the funeral service at 2:00 PM, January 19, 2024, at First Baptist Church, Celeste. Dr. Jim Sherwin and Dr. James Ralson will be officiating; burial will follow the service at Hogeye-Celeste Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Clifford was born on April 4, 1930, in Celeste, Texas to Clevie Carl Clark and Myrtle Ivy Parker Clark. Clifford married the love of his life Rachel Glasscock on October 18, 1952, at the First Baptist Church of Celeste. Clifford spent most of his life in Celeste farming and ranching; he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was stationed in Guam and toured on the U.S.S. Walker out of Pearl Harbor. Clifford is a long-time member of the First Baptist Church Celeste, where he served as an usher, always greeting everyone with a smile. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Clifford never met a stranger and always had a good story to tell. He will be missed by so many.
Clifford is survived by his daughter Tonja Saye, son Collin Carl and wife Dana, grandchildren Amber Saye, Lacy Saye, Cody Clark and wife Heather, Kara Clark, Hannah Clark, great grandchildren Keaton Fielden, Tyson Fielden, Chaseton Clark, Cameron Clark, and sister Ann Holding.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Rachel, half-sister Walter Merle Wester, and nephew Dana Bishop.
Pallbearers will be Cody Clark, Tyson Fielden, Ron Saye, Roger Claxton, Rex Claxton, Eric Evans and Mike Lipsey.
