Betty Sue Porter, 76, of Greenville, TX, passed away on September 9, 2024. She was born on May 16, 1948, in Greenville, TX, to Myrtle Mae Williamson and Wilburn Ray Miller. She was also blessed with a loving stepmother, Letha Faye Miller, who played an important role in her life.

Raised in Greenville, Betty worked at Henson’s. She later went to work for E-Systems, also known as Raytheon. She retired from there after 35 years of service. She was a devoted member of One Church in Caddo Mills, TX, where she found joy in working in the nursery ministry. Betty had a passion for gardening and canning, and she cherished every moment spent with her family. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her loved ones at Broken Bow, OK. Betty’s love for her family was evident in everything she did, and she will be remembered for her kind heart, dedication, and the countless memories she created with those she loved. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard “Bo” Porter; children: Rickey Porter and wife Melissa, Misty Dennison and husband Brandon; brother, Ray Miller and wife Karen; step-brothers: Joe Bobbitt, Mike Bobbitt; sister-in-law, Francine Swayze; grandchildren: Jacob Porter and wife Courtney, Brittany Porter, Alexandria Dennison, Adysen Manley, Ellie Porter, Ava Manley; great-grandson: Jacoby Porter; special family friends the Jacobs family; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents: Myrtle Mae and Wilburn Miller; stepmother, Letha Faye Miller; son, Randy Porter; parents-in-law: R.E. and Dorothy Porter.

There will be a memorial to celebrate Betty’s life at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Lynch Funeral Service Chapel in Greenville. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Betty’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
