Linda “Sissy” Leilani Kula, born on December 5, 1959, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Sidney and Beverly (White) Kula, passed away on February 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Commerce, Texas.
Sissy was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. She was the heart and soul of her family, always putting them first. Known for her generous spirit, Sissy would go out of her way to help others, and her selfless nature made her a beloved figure in the lives of all who knew her. She was the caregiver and the “rock” of her family, offering love, support, and wisdom throughout her life.
Sissy is survived by her daughter, Michele Plantier of Dracut, Massachusetts, and her cherished grandchildren: Michael Kula, Arianna Kula-Shultz, Daniel “D.J.” Shultz, Alicia Plantier, Trenton Plantier, and Joshua Plantier, all of Dracut, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her mother, Beverly Kula of Commerce, Texas, and her siblings: James “Kimo” Robert Kula and Cathy of Oahu, Hawaii; Susan Duquet and Leigh of New Hampton, New Hampshire; Katherine Thayer and William of Commerce, Texas; and Deborah Kennedy and John of Commerce, Texas. Sissy leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, and a host of loving friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sidney Kula, and her daughter, RaeJean Kula.
Sissy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. She will always be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her kind and generous heart, and the immense love she gave to everyone around her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local cancer organization or The American Cancer Society in honor of Linda.
