Charles Thomas French, affectionately known as “Frenchie” or “Cowboy,” passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, at the age of 84 in Quinlan, Texas. He was born on August 30, 1940, in Cleburne, Texas, to Thomas French and Willow Reagan French.

Charles proudly served in the U.S. Army and carried the spirit of discipline and honor throughout his life. He was known for his impeccable sense of style, always dressed like the clean-cut cowboy he truly was. Whether on a fishing trip or simply spending time with family and friends, Charles always exuded a laid-back, fun-loving personality that made him beloved by all who knew him.

A passionate fisherman, Charles found peace and joy by the water, but it was his warm heart, easygoing nature, and generous spirit that left the most lasting impression on everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas French and Willow Reagan French; his beloved wife, Juanita “Nita” French; and his brother, Bobby French.

Charles is survived by his sister, Brenda Cantrell and husband Jerry; his brother, Larry French and wife Barbara; his brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Becky Sells; his brother-in-law, Mike Sells; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family members and friends.

A graveside service to honor his life will be held at Sweetwater Cemetery, Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 11:30 am.
