David Keith Baker passed away at home in Farmersville on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 with his wife at his side. He had suffered from various illnesses and fought them off until his body gave out. David was born on August 17, 1954 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Sarah McMillan and Alfred Thomas Baker. He attended Greenville High School and Paris Junior College. A master manipulator of molten metal, David welded for several companies including Greenville Transformer, Powell Esco, Atlas Copco, and SAF Holland.
David married Sharon (Sheri) Schwene on June 2, 1976. They are blessed with two sons, Thomas Ryan Baker and Cody William Baker, and grandson Austin Thomas Baker. He is also survived by one brother, Richard Wayne Baker and wife Patti of Floyd, Texas and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him are his parents, and siblings Jack Thomas Baker, Carole Smith, Larry Allen Baker, Michael Byron Baker, and niece Wendy Jeanne Baker.
David coached his sons in soccer and baseball and helped them win trophies in the Pinewood Derby. He loved taking his boys fishing and camping and getting down on the floor to play with them. Most spring breaks were spent on the creek, which is about as primitive as camping gets (what happens at the creek stays at the creek). David loved family, Dale Earnhardt, the San Francisco 49ers, and animals (except for squirrels).
