Mona Frances House, 95, of Wills Point, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 in Greenville. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 A.M on Friday, May 8, 2020 at Grace Baptist Church in Quinlan with Rev. Eddie Singleton and Noel Bailey officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Burial will at 2:00 P.M. at Morris Memorial Gardens in Arlington, Texas.
Mona was born December 11, 1924 in Delta County to Dick Gerald Hanna and Rena Parks Hanna. With her Betty White hair, she was unique in her own style. Mona was a talented lady and the work of her hands and heart touched thousands of people treasured by family and friends alike. She was the rock of our family. She shared her passion with her husband James, and together they made a home that welcomed everyone. There were always tables set with food, games, puzzles, and lots of talk and laughter. She was a woman of strong spirit and spiritual belief. She is now together with her loving husband James House.
Mona loved children. She and her lifetime friend, Virginia, started a school for children in Myrtle Grove, Louisiana and she continued to teach children as a missionary in the Philippines. After moving to Wills Point, Mona became a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church, now Grace Baptist Church on January 15, 1984. Mona loved her Lord and her church. She served as leader of the WMU and was a member of the Joy Bells for at least 25 years, visiting at least three nursing homes per month. Mona also taught a women’s Sunday School class. Her class was a special group of ladies because they were truly sisters in Christ who enjoyed doing things together. She was always willing to help the church in any way that was needed, whether it was providing food for the children and youth, for a family in need, or giving to missions.
She is preceded in death by her husband James House, stepson David House, and step-grandson Monty House.
She is loved and will be missed by her Hanna nieces and nephews; stepdaughter Teena Stark; stepson James House, Jr., grandsons Christopher Sanders, Shawn and wife Amy; granddaughter Amber House-Romero and husband Sebastian; greatgrandchildren Zachary, Alexis, Colton and Emory; and several nieces and nephews.
