Dorthey Raye (Williams) Crawford 92 entered the arms of Jesus surrounded by family and friends on May 19, 2021.
She was born September 1, 1928 to Jean M. and Allice (Burlesson) Williams in Quinlan, Texas. She married the love of her life Marlin Crawford on June 13, 1947. They shared nearly 66 wonderful years together before he passed away in April 2013.
Dorthey was a true and proper lady in every aspect of her life. She was a Christian woman who loved the Lord and served Him faithfully in the Church of Christ. At home, she loved her family with all of her being. She raised her five children with great love and Christian discipline. Her husband respected and cherished her. When friends would come by, they were instantly welcomed, made to feel at home, and generously fed homemade, delicious meals. Outdoors, it was evident to see she had a green thumb and a passion for gardening. She created a beautiful, landscaped yard full of lush trees and fragrant flowers, and even a full garden of vegetables. In addition, she enjoyed a day of shopping for antique items especially with friends and family.
Dorthey will be remembered for being a positive person, always seeing the best in everyone she knew; and for having determination in each and every one of her endeavors.
She leaves lasting and wonderful memories for her family and friends.
Dorthey is survived by her daughter Sandra Marlene Panter; son Roger Warren Crawford and wife Patsy; son Robert Jean Crawford and wife Gayle; daughter Marian Sue Silva and husband Carlos; daughter Kimberly Kay Anderson and husband Kent. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Marlin P. Crawford; and son, David Presley Crawford.
