Daniel Stewart Brewer, 80, died Thursday, June 17th in Greenville. He was a beloved husband to his wife of 25 years, Denise Cook, a loving father of 3 daughters, grandfather of 7 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson. Proudly, Dan was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Berlin and fiercely patriotic to his country.
He enjoyed his career in the finance/banking industry as Branch Manager of finance companies, Vice-President of El Paso National Bank, Chairman, CEO & President of West El Paso National Bank. While a leader in the banking industry, he participated in making changes to the banking process on a local level in El Paso. In the ‘90s, he started his second career as a mental health therapist in private practice in downtown Greenville. As a therapist, Dan was known for his gentle guidance and kind spirit. He was passionate about golf and participated in many tournaments, often with celebrities, over the years. His other love and passion was for painting landscapes. We are grateful to have many of his artistic creations to enjoy.
Dan had a calm nature, fun sense of humor, enjoyed history and math, and loved his dog, Millie. When he left this world, he took a piece of each family member, and best & faithful friend, Roger, with him. Thankfully, he’s at peace now.
The family will have a Memorial Service at a later date and Dan’s final resting place will be at the DFW National Cemetery.
