Dale Ray Gibson, 70, of Celeste, passed away on July 1, 2022, in Plano. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Eason officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Merit Cemetery.
Mr. Gibson was born December 29, 1951, in Greenville, Texas to Billy Joe Gibson and Genelle Morton. He married Leslie Lorenz on December 29, 1984, in Gainesville, Texas. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and worked as a Sports Editor. He was a member of Celeste Methodist Church.
Mr. Gibson was a Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a life-long devoted Celeste Blue Devil and loved the Celeste community. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie Gibson of Celeste; son, Dustin Gibson and wife, Missy; daughters, Meredith Buckley and husband, Ray, and Celeste Gibson; grandchildren, Nehemiah Davis and wife, Lauren, Isaiah Buckley, Malachi Buckley, Seth Buckley, Samara Buckley, Elijah Buckley and Davin Gibson; great-grandchild, Alia Davis; mother of Meredith and Dustin, Susan Bruckhoff; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bill Gibson and wife, Donna, Gary Gibson and wife, Lucy.
Pallbearers will be Nehemiah Davis, Isaiah Buckley, Malachi Buckley, Seth Buckley, Samara Buckley, Elijah Buckley, and Davin Gibson.
