Burke Bailey, age 93, of Greenville, Texas, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Hunt Regional Medical Center, Greenville.
Burke was born on July 18, 1929 in Greenville, TX to O’Connor and Mary Ella (Burk) Bailey. He married Betty Elizabeth Owens on February 3, 1955, in Greenville, TX. Burke served in the Army from 1951 to 1958. He enjoyed crafts including clock making, singing gospel music, playing bingo and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherrie White; granddaughters, Falon Riley and her husband, Cody Riley; Tiffany Elkins and her husband Brannon; grandsons, Damon White and his wife, Amanda; Zakery Krohn; great-grandson, Jeremiah Brown; great-granddaughters, Kaedynce White, Lexi White, Lanayia Gunn, Ava Black; and great-grandson Brannon Black Jr. ; brother, Doc Bailey; and close friend and companion Barbara Evans.
Burke was preceded in death by his father, O’Connor Bailey; mother, Mary Ella Bailey; his loving wife, Betty Bailey; son, Steven Bailey; brothers O’Connor Bailey and Rex Bailey; and his sisters Velma Latham and Mildred McMahan
