Roger Stevan (Steve) Livengood, 72, of Greenville, Texas, joined many family members and friends in heaven on April 23, 2023. Steve was born on November 5, 1950, in Haskell, Texas, to Homer and Fern Livengood.
He grew up in the Paint Creek community and attended Paint Creek School. At age 9 Steve became a follower of Jesus and was baptized at Paint Creek Baptist Church. He married Siri Boedeker from Stamford, on January 8, 1972. Steve attended Texas Tech University, then graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a degree in Bible Studies and a minor in Chemistry. He enjoyed teaching science, computers, and math at Stamford, Lueders-Avoca, and Paint Creek schools and farmed the Livengood family farm at Paint Creek for many years. Steve began playing the piano and organ at church when he was 9 years old and continued for most of his life. He served as a pianist and organist at Paint Creek Baptist Church and First Baptist Church Stamford. He was currently a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Greenville where he served as an elder and in various other positions. Throughout his life, he taught adult and youth Sunday school, led men’s prayer groups, and served in many other volunteer capacities, including benevolence and leading music with his guitar at Hands of Compassion. Steve loved to work on computers, grow garden vegetables, repair anything that was broken, and play games and creative activities with his grandchildren.
Steve is survived by his wife of 51 years, Siri Livengood; son, Justin Livengood and wife Priya; son, Drew Livengood and wife Shawna; 5 grandchildren: Emory, Isaiah, Taran, Corin and Tristan; one brother, Edwin Livengood and wife Pat; as well as a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Fern Livengood of Paint Creek and Stamford.
