Anna Faye Pierce was born on January 4, 1930, in Commerce, Texas to Clifton and Aletrice Vaughn Aven and peacefully passed away in her home on October 1, 2024. Ann was a lifelong member of Creekside (Johnson St.) Church of Christ and her love of Jesus was evident in how she lived her life.
Her family was her world and her love for us was unconditional. She loved family gatherings and especially enjoyed getting sugars (kisses) from the little ones. She also enjoyed her weekly bridge games, game nights, and potluck dinners with her church family.
Ann married her childhood sweetheart Clarence Apple, Jr. on October 14, 1947, and together they had two sons Lynn and wife, Kay and Jimmy and wife, Jeannette. After Clarence’s passing, Ann married Leon Cathey on October 4, 1958, and she also loved and raised his children, Ronnie Cathey and Beverly Tarrant. After Leon’s passing, Ann was fortunate to find love again and married Vernon Pierce on February 13, 1977. She was blessed to become (step)mother to Mike Piece and wife, Sarah, Patty Bishop and husband, Joe, Debbie Sanders and husband, Danny. Ann was a loving and caring granny to 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Ann will be greeted in heaven by her sons, Lynn and Jimmy and step-son, Ronnie; her husbands, Clarence, Leon and Vernon; her parents, Clifton and Aletrice; her sister, Neta Nell; grandchildren, Dedra, Carrie, David and Jennifer and son-in-law, Danny;
Pallbearers will be Brandon Cathey, Bryan Cathey, Hunter Kreitmeyer, Barry Stapleton, Eric Pierce and Dax Diamond.
Visitation will be held at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a graveside to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce with Mr. Mark Wilhelm officiating and Mr. Gary Pendergrass leading in song.
