Aris Imogene (Jean) Wallace passed away on September 8, 2022 in Greenville, TX at Hunt Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Coker Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville, TX. with Donny Weimer officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 A.M. until service time. Interment will be in Memoryland Memorial Park, Greenville, TX .
Imogene was born at home August 22, 1926 to John and Purna Greenwood Paris at Webb Hill in Wolfe City, TX. She married Jack Wallace on April 5, 1947 in Greenville, TX. Tillit S. Teddlie performed the ceremony. Imogene was a member of Campbell Church of Christ in Campbell, TX for about 73 years. She worked at the Bowie Elementary School cafeteria in Greenville, TX for 30 years. Part of that time as Manager.
Jean is survived by her husband of 75 years, daughter Gayle Burns (Art), son Clinton Wallace (Sandra), grandchildren Tanya Clay (Neil), Brent Burns (Jenny), Jon Wallace and Jackie Wallace. Great grandchildren Hailey Burns, Cooper Clay, Georgia Clay, Brooks Burns and Allyssa Cheshier. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
Pallbearers will be Brent Burns, Neil Clay, Marlynn Crouch, Pat Painter, John Willabay and Gary Williams.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to American Heart Association or Alzheimer’s Association.
