Austin “Sonny” Dewayne Brierton, 83, of Greenville, Texas, went to be with his Heavenly Father on March 23, 2023. Dewayne was born on May 31, 1939, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Juanita Mildred Fenter and Austin Brierton.
Dewayne loved dirt track racing and also loved to watch his son Billy dirt track race. On the weekend, he loved going to estate sales and flea markets with his wife Dee Ann. Dewayne was a local mechanic and business owner in Greenville for over 40 years.
Dewayne is survived by his wife, Dee Ann Brierton; children: Shirley and Donald Richardson, Dennis Brierton, Billy Brierton, Betty and Kevin McNatt, Kathy and Steve McMackin, Sandra Hill, Brad Hise, and Scott and Jamie Hise; brothers: Jimmy and Liz Brierton; brother-in-laws: Joel Sales, and Buddy and Kim Sales; daughter-in-love, Bethanee and Tom Howes and their girls; 20 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
Dewayne is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, his daughter, and two granddaughters
