Bertha Mae Jackson (Bert) was born to Charles H. Jordan, Sr, and Lillian Jordan on March 7, 1960, in Winnfield, Louisiana. She grew up in Joyce, LA, where she attended New Light Baptist Church and received her formal education in the Winn Parish school district.
On June 13, 1987, Bertha married Darron Wayne Jackson; they were married for 36 years. With their union, she had one son, Derrick, and he had one daughter, Shalonda, and they later relocated to Texas. Bertha worked for CNH Industrial for over 30 years, where she was loved and adored as the Receiving Supervisor. She served in this role until she retired in 2021. She was active in her church, New Leaf Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, TX, under the leadership of Pastor Robert Moffett until her declining health. She transitioned home to be with the Lord on the afternoon of January 17, 2024, surrounded by family.
Bertha was a dedicated wife, protective mother, loving grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her interests include spending memorable time with her husband at the casinos, camping, traveling, shopping, cooking, watching sports, soap operas, and game shows. She loved being around and having fun with friends and family, especially her sisters. Hosting big dinners and family gatherings was her specialty.
Those preceding Bertha Jackson’s death include her father, Charles H. Jordan, Sr., her mother, Lillian Jordan, and her brother, Charles Jordan, Jr.
Bertha’s memories will be cherished by her devoted Husband, Darron W. Jackson; Son, Derrick Jordan; Daughter Shalonda Smith (Brandon); Grandchildren, Trevian, Trenton, Darriona, Nevaeh; Godchildren, Arryon and London; Sisters, Thelma Howard (Andre Sr.), Audrey Lewis, Karen Moffett (Robert), Sharon Jordan, Patricia Jordan, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
