Bertha Mae Evans Evil, 98 of Celeste, Texas departed this life on September 11, 2024. Her Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM. The Homegoing Service will be at Mount Olive Baptist Church at 12 Kingston St., Celeste TX 75423.
A Public Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Love & Integrity Funeral Services, 4900 King Street, Greenville, Texas.
Bertha Mae Evil was born to the union of Henry Evans Sr and Gertrude Davis Evans on December 12, 1925, in Jefferson, Texas, and moved to Celeste, TX in 1940. Mrs. Bertha was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Celeste, Texas for over 60 years. She served as the Sunday School Superintendent for many many years. She was employed at Celeste National Bank and later became a homemaker. She enjoyed going to church, fishing, puzzling, sewing, and reading.
Ms. Bertha is preceded in death by her parents Gertrude Davis Evans and Henry Evans Sr, husband Dan Evil whom she wed December 5, 1953, and her only child Ronald Evans, one sister and six brothers.She is survived by six grandchildren: Quvetta (Red), Trevella (Poo), Lajan, LaMunda, Ronald (Tarasha), and Robert (Adriana). 16 great grandkids, and 26 great great grandkids. Her faithful niece Barbara Hickman and several other nieces and nephews.
