Betty Delores Meads Parker, age 72, of West Tawakoni, was surrounded by her loving family when she left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 5, 2020. Funeral Services will be held to celebrate her life at 3:00P.M. on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Ingram Funeral Home with Shannon Salsman officiating. Viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:00A.M. to the service time at the funeral home.
Betty Parker was born on February 27, 1948 in Anniston, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Edward Hobson Meads and Lydia Irene Roberts Meads and raised in Alabama for most of her younger years. She married Walter Henderson Parker on December 2, 1983 in Rockwall, Texas and he preceded her in death on August 29, 2019. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Buddy Meads and Milton (Maggot) Meads. Betty was a hard worker and could out work anyone around. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed being a mother and grandma. She was known for her compassion for others and would always help those in need with a place to stay or something to eat. She enjoyed gardening and was especially proud of her roses. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was an exceptional cook that will be remembered for her wonderful homemade biscuits. She leaves a beautiful legacy of love: love that she had for others and love that was returned for her.
She is loved and will be missed by her son, Daniel Parker and wife Pamela of Garland, daughters, Karen Tinney and husband John of West Tawakoni, Mary Jones and husband Kenneth of Arkansas, Barbara Meads and husband Paul of West Tawakoni, and Shana Ogles and husband Dwight of West Tawakoni; brother, Johnny Meads and wife Patricia, Larry Meads and wife Irene, and Clifton Meads and wife Sharon all of Florida, and Ernest Meads and wife Louise of Arkansas; sister, Mary Jones and husband Pete of Alabama, 12 grandchildren, 27and a half great grandchildren and her K9 kid, Cheweeni.
