Bettye Orme Young, 98, passed away on July 11, 2024, at her residence. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Bettye was born July 1, 1926 to Jeffie Pennington Orme and James Edgar Orme in Greenville, Texas. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1943 and was a member of the Flaming Flashes from 1942 to 1943. She married John Wesley Young on October 26, 1947. She volunteered at Hunt Regional Medical Center for 30 years as a Pink Lady and was a member of Westview Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, John Mark Young and wife, Barbara Young; grandchildren, David Young and wife, Lea, and Joseph Young and wife, Karen; and niece, Linda Orme Winters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Jim Orme.
