Birdie Faye Qualls, 83 departed this life on Sunday, June 9th, 2024 in Greenville Texas. Her Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 1:00 pm (viewing prior to service) at Bethlehem Baptist Church 3809 Lee Street * Greenville, Texas.
Public visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Love & Integrity Funeral Services located at 4900 King Street * Greenville, Texas.
Birdie Faye Gordon was born to Willie and Elma Gordon on April 6, 1941, in Greenville, Texas. In December 1960 she married David Earl Hawkins and soon after welcomed two children Vickie and Vincent Hawkins into the world. In October 1971, she moved to Berkeley, CA where she later met and married Odell Qualls.
Birdie worked as a lead in aerospace for Systron Donner in Concord, CA for 25 years. She retired in 1994 and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, and watching football. She was a proud member of Bethlehem Church and enjoyed watching virtually from California.
Birdie Qualls is preceded in death by her husband Odell Qualls, parents, Willie Gordon and Elma Sorrell Gordon, brothers Terry Gordon and Billy Gordon, sister Robbie Jo Jackson, son Gaylan Qualls, and nephew Rodney Jackson.
Birdie Qualls is survived by her sister Pamela Jackson, daughter Vickie Hawkins of San Diego, CA, sons Vincent Hawkins of Dallas, Tx., Bradly Qualls, of Sacramento, CA, Lovell Qualls and Odell Qualls II,; grandchildren Natasha Riley-Grigsby (Billy Grigsby), Briana Ortega (Brigham) (Arthur Ortega), Gianni Latimer, and Adrianna Wilkinson along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
