Services for Carolyn Joyce Woodward Elliott, 77, of Lone Oak, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, August 12, 2024, at Lone Oak United Methodist Church, with Rev. Beth Ensor officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Lone Oak.
Interment will be in Lone Oak City Cemetery.
Mrs. Elliott passed away Monday, August 5, 2024, at her residence in Lone Oak. She was born December 25, 1946, in Callaway, NE, to Merril E. and Esther C. Woodward. On November 22, 1975, she married Richard Elliott. They resided in Callaway, NE, until moving to Lone Oak in 1979. After completing Greenville Beauty School, she owned and operated her own beauty shop for several years. Carolyn then entered nursing school, where she graduated as an RN. She worked for many years at Hunt Regional Medical Center, until her retirement.
Carolyn was known for her unbounding love for her family and was always there to support them in their endeavors. Family was number one for her. Every Wednesday night she hosted Pizza and Wheel of Fortune Night and each fall she could be found bonding with her grandchildren while making candy. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Detta Wright; two brothers, Larry Woodward and Gail Woodward; and brother-in-law, Dick Holeman.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Richard Benton Elliott of Lone Oak; son, Doug Elliott and Kristi Graham of Lone Oak; daughter, Dana Sandlin of Greenville; brother, Cecil Woodward of Callaway, NE; sister, Peggy Holeman of Amherst, NE; four grandchildren, Brandon, Briana, Jada, and Chase; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Randy Stracener, Gary Wallace, Perry Sandlin, Rod Groves, Jerry McGee, and Aaron Rivers.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Sunday, at Bartley Funeral Home, Lone Oak.
