Caswell Dan Winnett, 81, of Greenville, TX, passed away in the afternoon of April 19, 2022. Dan was born on April 16, 1941, to Beatrice Hulyne Stanfield and Howard Curtis Winnett in Dallas, Texas.
Dan had a great and full life. He was married to his wife, Tina, for 43 years. He was a signalman in the Navy in his youth and then began a career as a newspaper pressman, working for the Fort Worth Star Telegram and The Dallas Morning News. He later went into a building maintenance career, working for 7-Eleven and other food distributors. Dan was a genus when it came to fixing anything. Dan was an accomplished scuba diver and was certified as a rescue diver and an instructor and he traveled to many countries pursuing adventure. Dan’s greatest enjoyment came when he rode his Harley. He rode for over 50 years and made many long road trips on his bike as he was looking for adventures.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Winnett, his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Joel Gray, his grandchildren, Cord and Jordan Gray and 3 great grandchildren, Lillian, Liam and Axton and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Bea Winnett, and his brother, Ronny Winnett.
A service will be held Thursday, April 28, 2022, starting at 3:00 PM at the DFW National Cemetery.
