Charles Richard Lee, Sr., 82 of Commerce, formerly of Blair, Nebraska passed on May 12, 2024 surrounded by family.
Charlie was born on October 4, 1941 to Ralph and Maureen Wolverton Lee in Dallas, TX. He was a “parts guy” for dealerships in Dallas before beginning his 33-year career with the Union Pacific Railroad.
Charlie accepted Jesus as his savior. He loved listening to Gospel music and watching church on TV. He also loved watching westerns, sports, and Walker, Texas Ranger. Charlie was an avid golfer. He traveled with his job but always found time for a round of golf. He chose vacation destinations based on the golf courses. After his retirement in 2006, at home in Blair, he played a round with his brother-in-law Gary and friends, every Thursday, weather permitting. He was so proud of his Hole in One on a #7, Par 3, 122 yards in 2017.
Left to cherish his memories are his son, Charles “Ricky” Lee Jr., wife Toni, and special friend Mary Ann, all of Commerce. Daughters Patricia of Ohio and Mary Moore, husband Buddy, of Halletsville, TX. Cousin Liz Reid of Rockwall. Sister Patti Laubach, husband Larry of Houston, TX. Brother-in-law Gary Christopher of Blair, Nebraska. 11 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, favorite Aunt Abba Vail, and his wife, Laurie Christopher.
Charlie wished to be cremated with no service. Instead, please say a prayer for those left behind and go play a round of golf in his honor.
