“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Christopher Razii Hines, 32, of Commerce departed this life on Monday, July 15, 2024 in Commerce. He was born in Sulphur Springs, TX on February 13, 1992 to Shirley Hines and B. Richard Newsom. He attended and graduated from Commerce ISD.
Chris spent his time here on earth building meaningful relationships and living life to the fullest. Christopher was a joy to be around. His smile could light up a room. Anyone who came in contact with him couldn’t help but love him. From his contagious laugh, jokes, dance moves and to his ability to talk, listen, and encourage. He was the true definition of an all-around guy and a genuine friend.
Chris cherished his family and friends. He was a firm believer in being true to himself and others (whether it hurt feelings or not). A friend was a friend until the end.
Chris was called home on July 15, 2024 after battling cancer for 5 years. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Kenneth Hendrix and Billy Dunn; cousin Ashley Hines; all of his great aunts and uncles and a host of friends.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories: his mother Shirley Hines, grandmother Rhenda Hines; brothers: Baley Chastain, Cruz Hines and Darrean Dugan; sisters Candice Hines Blamely (Nina Blamley), Tiombria Ross, Latambria Newsome, Shaniqua Dixon and Nia Newsome; aunts: Medina Hines, Kathy Hines, Jachasitee King and Sabreshia King. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Chris will truly be missed. He left his mark here on earth but gained his wings in heaven.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 4:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church in Commerce with Rev. David Savage officiating.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Deleon, Andrew Nelson, Terrence Walker, Colin Sell, Kyle Putman and Rodney Harrison.
