Cody Lee Watkins, age 37, of McKinney went to be with his Lord Jesus on June 24, 2020.
Born in Greenville, Texas on June 3, 1983 to Rod and Karen Watkins, Cody graduated from Caddo Mills High School in 2001 and University of North Texas at Denton in 2005 with a business degree. He went on to get his teaching certification and began a career in teaching at Prosper ISD, Caddo Mills ISD and Lawler Middle School in Frisco.
Cody had a passion for tennis, golf, and most of all teaching. He found joy in seeing his students excel, and always found time to coach his math and science teams. His giving and caring heart touched everyone that he knew. He was a loving son, brother and an amazing uncle to his niece and nephews. He left this world too soon and he will be dearly missed, but he is now home with his Heavenly Father.
Cody is survived by his parents of Caddo Mills, TX; sister Amy Berthold and husband Robert of Orange Grove, TX; brother Brian Watkins and wife Teresa of Houston, TX; niece Addison Berthold and nephews Tyson Berthold, Jack and Drew Watkins. He is also survived by loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Cody was preceded in death by his grandparents Jack and Laverne Watkins and Jack and Doris Pearce, aunts Cathy Watkins Benedict and Jackie Pearce Kennard.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank all those who have prayed and expressed their love and condolences and especially for the support and assistance from his friends.
