Connie Jean Benson King, 68, of Commerce passed away early Thursday morning, July 26, 2024, at her residence. Connie was born in Greenville, TX on June 4, 1956, to Albert Lee Benson and Eloise Julian Benson. She was married to the late Mark King. Connie earned a B.S. in Social Work from East Texas State University in 1994.
When a cardinal appears, an angel is nearby. Connie collected red birds, watched old westerns, and Elvis movies, spent time with her daughter, grandkids, granddog, and other family, daily phone conversations with her cousin Dell and best friend “Dell.” Connie never met a stranger. To know her was to love her.
Connie is survived by her daughter Christy Guest (Bobby Hill) and stepson Michael King (Jessica); grandchildren Christopher Clark-Gutierrez (Elizabeth), and Cody Clark (Dejah); great-grandchildren Warenlee Gutierrez, Lanie Rae Gutierrez and Zane Clark (due soon). She is also survived by her brother Rickey Benson, many aunts, uncles, cousins, a nephew, brother and sisters-in-law, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandparents.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Brigham Cemetery in Campbell at 11:00 A.M with Bro. Jason Cunningham officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Benson, Matt Frazier, Brandon Petty, Jim Bob Guest, Rickey James Benson, and Michael Thomas. Honorary pallbearers are Michael King, David Anderson, Jason Davis, and Greg Preas.
