Together forever, Dalton Tanner McGee, 25, and Alyssa Avelyn McGee, 24, of Celeste, entered eternity together, hand in hand on Sunday, June 26, 2022, in Lake City, Colorado. Services honoring their lives, will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 8, 2022, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steven Johnson and Pastor Ashton Dennard officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, July 7, 2022, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Dalton was born in Plano, Texas on January 30, 1997, to Michael McGee and Amanda Causey McGee. Dalton graduated from Celeste High School in 2015, Paris Junior College in 2018 and graduated from Sam Houston University in 2019. Dalton worked as a Corporal Correctional Officer for Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department since February 15, 2020. He enjoyed hunting, farming, and loving Alyssa and their fur-babies.

Alyssa was born August 31, 1997, in Dallas, Texas to David Edward Aussicker and Tresa Diane Garrett. Alyssa graduated from Royse City High School in 2015 and attend Texas A&M-Commerce.  Alyssa worked as the Marketing Director at the Northeast Children’s Museum in Commerce. She enjoyed antiquing and traveling.

Dalton Tanner McGee married the love of his life, Alyssa Avelyn Aussicker in a wedding ceremony on December 19, 2019, at Charleston Sky Wedding Venue in Cooper, Texas. They were living their best life together and enjoyed life to the fullest in every journey they encountered.

They are survived by their families that love them beyond words, Dalton’s parents, Amanda and Michael McGee; Alyssa’s mother, Tresa Garrett and father, David Aussicker; her sister, Allena Smithburg and husband, Greg; their bonus child, Krissy Kay; his grandparents, Carl and Sylvia McGee and her grandmother, Vicki Miley; their beloved fur-babies, Dixie, Bear, and Blue Bell; and numerous aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins.

They were preceded in death by his grandparents, Billy and Linda Causey and her grandparents, Allen and Dianne Garrett.

Their pallbearers will be Neil Wright, Clayton Mackey, Abel Tanguma, Roger Seals, Colton Blackstock, Gregg Smithburg, and Junior Whytus.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rob Dixon, Hunter Dixon, Ralph Parrett, Logan Thomas and Dale Webb.

In honor of their memory, memorials may be made to Northeast Texas Children’s Museum in Commerce or Early Childhood Intervention in Greenville.
