Dana Marie Wilson, age 50, of Quinlan, went to be with her Lord & Savior on Monday, February 15, 2021, at Baylor Lakepoint Hospital in Rowlett. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
Dana was born on March 27th 1970 in Saugus, California. At 12 years old, she moved with her family to Texas. She was the daughter of the late James Patrick McVey Sr. and Linda Chacanaca McVey. She was the fourth child out of a family of six. Dana was in her mid-twenties when her father passed away.
Dana enjoyed painting ceramics, listening to music, doing crossword puzzle books, and cooking. She was a former member of an organization known as the Quinlan Lions Club, and loved making scrap books, with dozens of photos of her children and family. She also loved spending time with family, mainly by dancing along with her sisters, showing off her “traditional” dance moves. She also went to many different states, including Minnesota, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. For a while she worked for Mervyn’s department store, followed by Scotty’s convenience store, then Willie’s Westaurant, and finally Walmart. Despite the many job changes, she enjoyed working for all of them.
Along with the creativity from the fore-mentioned paintings, she also liked writing poems. She’d also occasionally take turns riding a four-wheeler with her sisters.
Dana was preceded in death by her father James McVey Sr, and her brother James McVey Jr.
She is loved and will be missed by her daughter, Jamie Wilson of Quinlan, and son James Wilson of Quinlan, Mother Linda McVey and step-father Charlie McVey of Wills Point, sisters Kimberly Sanchez of Royse City, Rita Hartman of Quinlan, Michelle Kelly and husband Donato Acosta of Garland. She will also be missed by her 3 nephews and 3 nieces, along with many other relatives and friends.
