David Errol Floyd, 79, of West Tawakoni, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 1, 2020 in Plano. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan, with Pastor Shannon Salsman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
David was born April 27, 1941 to the late James Paul Floyd and Mildred Inez Sibley Floyd in Dallas, Texas where he was raised and attended school. He graduated from Hillcrest High School and then attended the University of Texas at Arlington where he received his bachelor’s degree. In November 1963 the joined the Army and proudly served his country. After his discharge from the Army, David worked with his dad for a number of years at the post office and later was a sales representative for IBM. On October 27, 2019 he married Lisa Johnice Howard Shipman Floyd and they made their home in West Tawakoni. David enjoyed watching old westerns, listening to the radio, and liked going to the State Fair of Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sandra Floyd Kane.
He is loved and will be missed by his wife Lisa; son David J. Floyd of Florida; stepdaughter Robin Beigly Floyd; 1 granddaughter; brother and sister-in-law Paul and Patricia Farmer of Cooper, Texas; brother-in-law Robby Howard of Cooper, Texas; stepsons Christopher Howard, Nicholas Shipman and Jeffrey Shipman II; step- grand-children Maddison and Andrew Howard of Collinsville, Texas; Mary and Mark Johnson of Quinlan, Texas; Angelika Gielisch and children from Stuttgart, Germany.
