David Michael “Dude” Smith, 77, of Greenville, died Monday, April 20, 2020 in Hunt Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, April 24, 2020 at Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home Thursday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Mr. Smith was born in Greenville, Texas on March 12, 1943. He was the son of Joel Dorsey Smith and Annis Viola Robinson Smith. He and Mary Ferguson married December 10, 1971 in Durant, Oklahoma. He was a Methodist and a retired journeyman lineman for the City of Greenville.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Smith; daughters, Angela Shipp and Karla Berryhill; stepdaughter, Christeena DeGarso; stepson, James DeGarso; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three sisters and one grandchild.
