A celebration of life for Della Sue Elmore will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2022. The memorial service will be at 2:00 PM at Lynch Funeral Home in Greenville, Texas. Della went to be with the Lord at Hunt Regional Medical Center on February 9th, 2022 while surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 28th, 1947 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Alvie and Lena Nelson. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and memaw. She retired from Sherwood Medical after twenty-five years of service. She was an active member of the Cumby United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, reading her bible, and most of all spending time with her family. She married the love of her life, Sammy Elmore, on June 30th, 1997.
Survivors include her loving husband, Sammy Elmore of Campbell, sister Margie Quisenberry of Campbell, daughter Lena Moore and husband Scott Moore of Cumby, grandchildren Monica and Jacob Armstrong of Sulphur Springs, and Trevor Moore of Cumby. She also is survived by 6 step children, Rhonda, Bobby, Michael, Kathy, Schell, Shane, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alvie and Lena, brothers: Bill, Jesse, Johnny, Joe, and Gene Nelson, sisters: Martha Busby and Lucille Petry.
