Dora Ellen Harrison, 78, of Celeste, passed away on October 2, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM, Friday, October 6, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Celeste with Rev. Jim Sherwin officiating. The burial will follow the service at Dulaney Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday night from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Dora was born on September 3, 1945, in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Otea Crafton and Myrtle Ashbrook Crafton. Dora married Kenneth Harrison in Celeste on July 31, 1988. Dora was a member of the First Baptist Church of Celeste and a long-time member of the community of Dulaney, Dora owned and operated Creative Options in Greenville for years. Dora loved spending time around her place gardening and reading. Dora was what some people call a gamer, she loved to play games on her computer. Dora had a passion for cooking and made one of the best homemade chocolate pies.
Dora is survived by her husband Kenneth; sons Robert Harrison and Terry Harrison; daughter Chrysti Davis and husband Jose, brother, James Crafton; sisters Donna Bagby, Mildred Lowe and Janie Kling; grandchildren Eric Harrison, Dustin Harrison, Shannon Harris, Brandon Tadlock, Kaycee Davis and Reese Harrison; and seven great-grandchildren.
Dora is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers-in-law.
Pallbearers will be Jose Davis, Cecil Kinsey, Thomas Reed, Bobby Milner, Rob Harrison, and Tommy Milner.
