Dorothy Jean McGee, 93, of Greenville, passed away on January 23, 2022 at the Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Royce Litchfield officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born December 17, 1928 in Greenville, Texas to Floyd and Evelyn Young Lowe. She married Ernie McGee in October of 1968 in Greenville. She worked many years for Shirey’s before going to work with Greenville Independent School District as the food dietician. She was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Mike Swanson and wife, Linda; sister, Melba Deaton; grandchildren, Heath Swanson, Blake Swanson, Chase Swanson, Cody Swanson, David Swanson, Chad Swanson, Taylor Beasley; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David Ray Swanson; brother, Floyd Lowe, Jr.; sister, Lois Orr and granddaughter, Paige Blair.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be nephews, Ray Deaton and Bobby Deaton.
