Douglas Edward Williams, Sr passed away peacefully at his home in Campbell, Texas on December 27, 2024. He was born in Houston, Texas to Georgia Ruth Brannon and Hubert Otto Williams on July 4, 1942.

Following high school, Doug enlisted in the Army where he served in the Vietnam War and earned the decorations of Vietnam Service Medal and marksmanship badge. After his enlistment ended, he lived in Houston until 1987 when he moved to the Dallas area. He settled in Campbell, Texas and became a member of Prairie Valley Baptist Church, where he enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years. He worked as a telecommunications installer until his retirement from Lucent Technologies.

Doug is survived and missed by his loving wife of 38 years, Melba; and his children, Robert Kinsel (Patricia), Sherry Kinsel Bowerman (Jerry), Douglas Willams, Jr (Darla), Lisa Williams Anderson, and Karen Kinsel May (John). Forever cherished and remembered by his twelve grandchildren, Charli, Ashley, Russell, Christopher, Brianna, Salena, Jace, Cody, Bailey, Johnathon, Tyler, and Amberlie, twenty-three great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren, and siblings Michael Williams and Lynda Allen.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents Georgia and Hubert, his first wife, Gay Nell Wood Williams, and his son, Michael Ross Williams.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, January 3rd at Prairie Valley Baptist Church in Campbell, Texas with Joe Knight officiating.
