Eleanor Frances Vodicka, 79, of Greenville, passed away on July 9, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her family. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Commerce. A rosary will be held at 8:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Eleanor was born May 11, 1940 in Blue Island, Illinois to Nicholas and Catherine Hernandez Flores. She married James Charles Vodicka in Chicago, Illinois. Eleanor was a homemaker and her time was spent raising her five beautiful daughters. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and also the Catholic Daughters of the America’s.
Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Mary Trelc and husband, Bill, Rose Canning and husband, John, Theresa Vodicka Lara and husband, James, Catherine Black and husband, Mike; son-in-law, Randy Bowdre; brother, Nicholas Flores, Jr. and wife, Toni; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and many grandchildren of the heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Carrine Bowdre; brother, Joseph Flores; and sister, Mary Resendiz.
