Elizabeth Ann “Becky” Stathos, née Hightower, 73, entered into the arms of Jesus surrounded by family and friends on August 7, 2019 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Born September 17, 1945 to John Benjamin and Catherine “Q” Hightower in Huntsville, TX. She was the great-great-granddaughter of General Sam Houston.
Services will be Wednesday, August 14th, 2019 at First Baptist Church Celeste 203 W Cockrell St, Celeste, TX 75423. Visitation at 10 am and a Memorial Celebration at 11 am. Attendees are invited to wear UT-Longhorn burnt orange to celebrate Becky’s final homecoming.
Becky truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending time with her family, loving on her fur babies, rooting for the Texas Longhorns, and beating everyone at Scrabble. Her wit, humor, and beautiful spirit will be remembered for generations to come.
Becky made a close group of lifelong friends during her early school days in
Huntsville and Beaumont, Texas and was a graduate of Austin High School in Austin, TX in 1963. Her career brought an even wider circle of treasured
friends. She is survived by her son, Dan Stathos IV and his wife Jennifer;
daughter, Stacy Palmer and her husband David; brother, John Buckner Hightower; grandchildren Elizabeth Gutierrez and her husband Robert, Amber Crowe, Michael Barrera, Isaac Palmer and his wife Holly, Hannah Didear and her husband Charlie, Josephine Palmer, David Palmer Jr., Noah Palmer, Toby Palmer, Zoe Palmer, Trinity Palmer, and Phoebe Palmer; great-grandchildren Katelyn Crowe, Lucas Ayala, Jaxson Crowe, Callie Crowe, Annabel Palmer, Olivia Palmer, and James Palmer.
She was welcomed into heaven by her parents, son, Jeffrey Todd Bennett, and son-in-love Tommy Bert Nix.
