Services for Evelyn Aleene Whitely Adkins, 80, of Lone Oak are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Resurrection Morning Church, Lone Oak, (formerly Lone Oak Community Church) with Bro. Eugene Green officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Lone Oak.
Interment will be in Donelton Cemetery, Lone Oak.
Evelyn passed away on February 6, 2020, at a Greenville Hospital. She was born November 18, 1939, in Temple to Archie Dee and Enola E. Franks Whitely. On September 30, 1961, she married Henry Curtis Adkins in Temple. Evelyn had lived the past 35 years in Lone Oak and was a member of the Resurrection Morning Church of Lone Oak. She retired from McKesson Inc. after 20 years of service as a secretary. She loved her many friends at work and especially, her dear friend Frankie Law of Emory. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Henry Adkins.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Keith Adkins and wife Dawn of Georgetown and Jason Curtis Adkins of Lone Oak; brother, Floyd M. Whitely of Houston; nephew, Tommy Whitely and wife Jennie of Houston; six grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be John Green, Jereb Fuselier, Kiddo Green, Paul Hinna, David Adkins, David Green, and Richard Pyron.
