Fern Coursey Fenimore, of Greenville, Texas, passed away May 21, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on September 7, 1943, in Hereford, Texas, Fern was the daughter of Russell and Alma Coursey.
Fern went to High School in Vega and graduated in 1961. She went on to college in Amarillo, Texas.
Fern was a devout Christian and spent much of her earlier life in Vega, Texas, where she was a member of Vega First Baptist Church. She served her community with dedication as Chief Dispatcher for the Oldham County Sheriff’s Department, a position she held for seven years with diligence and pride.
On May 11, 1987, she married the love of her life, Raymond Dennis Fenimore. Fern was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
In 2004, she moved to Greenville, Texas, and became an active member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church, where she found fellowship and friendship within the congregation. She preferred reading, playing the piano and guitar and always volunteered at her church.
One of the greatest loves of Fern’s life was animals. She had a passion for rescuing and saving animals, including a goat, chickens, a skunk, squirrels, birds, cats and dogs. Her favorite animals were chihuahua dogs.
She is survived by two daughters, Robin Schiller and husband Danny Schiller of Greenville, Texas and Rhonda Reagan of Fort Worth, Texas, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Fern was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Fenimore.
Fern will be remembered for her unwavering faith, strength of character, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.
No service was requested. Fern’s burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vega Texas, beside her husband.
