Floyd “Bill” Junior Hyatt, 85, of Greenville, passed away in his home on February 12, 2021.  A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., February 27, 2021 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Richard Moore officiating.

Mr. Hyatt was born August 2, 1935 to Clarence Lee Hyatt and Dovie Jane Brown Hyatt in Grant, Oklahoma. He married Jean Janette Morgan on October 30, 1964 in Dallas, Texas. Those that knew him well called him Bill, Daddy, and Grandpa. Bill retired from Vought Aircraft in 2004 with 37 years of service working on many large aircraft. In his younger years he earned numerous trophies racing cars and owned an air conditioning business, which kept him busy evenings and weekends for many years. Bill had a serious love of old country music in particular George Jones, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jenning and Willie Nelson just to name a few. One of his favorite passions was working to restore vintage cars and trucks. Bill always had several auto restoration projects going at the same time in his shop out back. He also loved guns and knives and fashioned several knives during his spare time at work. 

Bill is survived by his wife, Jean Hyatt,  daughter, Rachael Driggers (Jeff), son Josh A. Hyatt, son Ricky Dale Hyatt, grandson Sean C. Driggers (Laura), granddaughter Morgan Vestal (Marc), great grandsons Charles Mack Driggers, Jack Caleb Driggers, great granddaughter “baby girl” Vestal due in July, niece Sue Tinney, several cousins and his precious dog Rowdy. 

Preceded in death by his parents, brother Rupert Lloyd Hyatt, sisters Opal Underwood and Mattie Hudman, son Floyd Randall Hyatt, and niece Mildred Covington.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at VITAS who worked diligently to make his last days comfortable.
