Frances Jean Neel, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed this world on July 22, 2025, at the age of 84, in Wolfe City, Texas. Born on March 3, 1941, in Slaton, Texas, Frances lived a life full of love and devotion to her family, leaving behind a legacy that will be forever cherished.
Frances, who retired from Walmart, was known not just for her work ethic but for her warm heart and unwavering support toward those she loved. Her education in life was grounded in the values of family, which she adored above all else. She carried these values with her through generations, spreading affection and kindness wherever she went.
She is survived by her beloved children: Michelle Linex and her husband Martin, Wade Neel and his wife Heather, and Mindy Neel with her special friend Chad. Each of her children carries a piece of their mother’s spirit, guiding their lives with the love she instilled in them. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law Larissa Neel.
Frances took great joy in being a grandmother to her grandchildren: Melissa, Crystal, Blake, Daniel, Jennifer, Savanah, Kelli, Rachel, Jamie, and Michael Jr. Her heart swelled with pride for each of them, as their achievements and milestones filled her with indescribable joy. As a great-grandmother, she was blessed with Jacob, Xavier, Adriane, Isabella, Morgan, Mason, Megan, Connor, and Charly, who brought even more light into her life.
Frances was predeceased by her husband Howard Neel, her sons Dennis (Bubba), Michael and Curtis Lee, her daughter Rebecca Ann, and her grandson Justin Linex. The bond they shared in life continues to resonate in the hearts of those left behind. She also mourned the loss of her sisters Judy and Glendora, her brother Lloyd Dan, and her twin brother Franklin Dean, who remain lovingly remembered in her family’s stories.
Her funeral service will be held at Jones – Walker & Son Funeral Home in Commerce, Texas, on July 27, 2025, commencing at 1:00 PM. Friends and family will gather to celebrate Frances’s beautiful spirit and the love she shared with everyone lucky enough to know her.
Frances Jean Neel’s life was a testament to the power of love, family, and the connections we hold dear. Though she is no longer with us in body, her love and memories will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be missed beyond words but held close in the hearts of those she loved most.
