George C. Mayfield passed away on December 20, 2022.
He was born in Atlanta, Texas to James and Nora Mayfield on August 2, 1937. He was married to Lois for 57 years and had three children. George was active in his community and church serving as a deacon for over 60 years and was a long-time member of Vansickle Baptist Church, he served the Cash Fire Department as chaplain and volunteer firefighter and was the sexton of Hart Cemetery.
George is survived by his son; Steven James Mayfield, Sr. and wife Marilyn, and two daughters; Lisa Mayfield, Amy Goen and husband Kyle and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Lois and brother, Vernon Mayfield.
Service to be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at Vansickle Baptist Church
