George Keith Doan, 65, of Celeste, passed away on July 27, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Higher Trails Cowboy Church with Rev. Randy Bird officiating. Burial will be in Merit Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, July 29, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Mr. Doan was born in Greenville, Texas on November 7, 1953 to George Doan and Mary Jo Stonecipher Doan. He married Linda Doan on March 20, 1985 in Greenville. He worked as a firefighter for the City of McKinney.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Doan; sons, Jarrod Doan and wife, Emily of Canyon, Texas, Brandon Doan of Merit; Matt Doan of Merit and Russell Doan of Merit; daughter, Brandi Doan Worley of Merit; brothers, David Doan and wife, Vanessa of Merit, Richard Doan and wife, Angela of Farmersville; sister, Nita Welborn and husband, Steve of Merit, Tracie Johnson and husband, Tony of Merit; grandchildren, Alexis Kearney, Ethan Doan, Drew Doan, Jordyn Ball, Tyler Ball, Jaxyn Ball, Darian Wieck, Hannah Doan, Dylan Doan, Paxton Worley and Cheyann Beard.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother.
Pallbearers will be Tony Johnson, David Ray Doan, Richard Dale Doan, Steve Welborn, Jack Wigington and Mark Douglas.
