Grady Duane Nicholson, 88, of Greenville, passed away on July 5, 2020 at his residence. A graveside service will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Memoryland Memorial Park with Minister Shane Carrington officiating. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Nicholson was born in McKinney, Texas to Ira O. and Martha Ellen Nicholson. He married Betty Joyce Wallace on December 4, 1955.

Duane and Betty have two children, daughter, Milinda Nicholson Hollingsworth and husband, Dr. Harris Hollingsworth; son, Rodney (Bubba) Nicholson and wife, Sheryl; six grandchildren, Eugenia Hollingsworth Swanson and husband, Michael, Cody Nicholson, Allison Nicholson, Tyler Nicholson and wife, Kelly, Harris Hollingsworth, Jr. and wife, Jenna and Channa Ory and husband, DJ; eight great-grandchildren, Kaileigh, Elisabeth and Collier Swanson, Ryleigh and Hunter Nicholson, Emmaline and husband, Jacob Phillips, John Harris and Sophia Ory; one great-grandchild, Evelyn Phillips.

He was stationed in Japan while serving in the Air Force.

Duane graduated from East Texas State University. He was an engineer at Temco for twenty years. He then went on to work for the federal government for another twenty years.

After retirement he was able to enjoy two great passions. The first was his enjoyment of working on and restoring antique cars; second was traveling in their rv and meeting new people.

He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ since the age of 16. Everyone that knew him knew his love and dedication for the Lord. He was a member of the Greenville Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Curtis, Bates, and Dee Nicholson, sisters, Hazel Parker and Faye Doree.

Pallbearers are Charlie Hughes, Marvin Rector, Pete Nicholson, Roger Nicholson, Alan Nicholson and Monty Nicholson.

Honorary pallbearers are Lee Reaves, Norman Robinson, Larry Ward and Eddie Goswick.
