Harold Ernest Robinson, age 94, of Greenville, Texas passed away on May 5, 2021 surrounded by family. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Family Fellowship with Mr. Kenny Stone officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Harold was born on June 3, 1926 to Elmer and Rachel Robinson. He was the baby of the family with 6 older siblings, William, Lorene, Claude, Clyde, Marvin, and Lillian. At age 18, Harold was drafted by the US Army and served with Company L, 20th Infantry, 6th Division in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre of Operation. Harold was a squad leader and was responsible for 12 men assigned to the Army of Occupation in Japan. He was a trained rifleman during his 2 year service from 1944 to 1946. At the age of 20, Mr. Robinson entered the workforce as a bundle boy for White Star Laundry in Greenville, Texas. Through the years, Harold worked his way up through the ranks, eventually becoming the manager. In 1977, he bought the business and became the owner and operator of White Star Laundry. Mr. Robinson was passionate about serving his community through the laundry business and did so up to age 90. Mr. Robinson was a proud member of Family Fellowship of Greenville where he enjoyed connecting and traveling with his Sunday School class.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, his first wife Wanda Robinson, second wife Billie Ferguson Robinson, stepdaughter Sheila and grandson Adam Coffman.
He is survived by his 99-year-old brother Marvin Robinson of Greenville, Tx; his son and daughter-in-law Harold Wayne and Debra Robinson of Aventuras Akumal, Mexico, daughter and son-in-law Denise and James Coffman of Keller, Tx; daughter and son-in-law Wanda and Cesar Parra of El Paso, Tx; grandchildren Adrianna Parra, Dawn Pierce, Tommy Robinson, Andrew Eldridge and Ashley Coffman Kahler. He was a proud Pa-Pa-Pa of 3 great grandchildren, Emilyn and London Kahler and Brynn Eldridge.
