Jackie Marie Morgan Clark, 86, of Greenville, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 9, 2022. Memorial services will be held at a later time. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on August 11, 1936, in Overton, Texas to Luceal and Jack Morgan. She attended New London School, then met James Clark while both were freshmen at Kilgore Jr. College. James was a football player and Jackie was a Kilgore Rangerette. They were married July 3, 1955, and briefly resided in Dallas before moving to Mesquite where they had three daughters. They built a house and moved to ‘the farm’ outside Greenville in 1969.
Jackie worked as a preschool teacher in Mesquite, then she completed her degree in education and taught elementary school in Greenville and Caddo Mills. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, and baking, as well as reading. She enjoyed traveling, particularly after retirement.
Jackie was a long-time member of Park Street Baptist Church and the Joy Class there and was also active in Retired Teachers and Quilt Guild.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James; and her sister, MaryAnn; as well as daughters, Paula, Janice and Cheryl; grand-daughters, Toni and Diane, and their families.
The family would like to thank Jackie’s caregivers Robin, Geneva, Debra, Delmi and others, as well as her Family First Hospice nurses, Cori and Alicia.
