James Earl Waldroup, 74, of Greenville, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at his residence.  Funeral services are planned for Monday, May 16, 2022, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Paul Faseler officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Forest Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 PM until service time.

James was born on February 17, 1948, in Tyler, Texas to MC Waldroup and Katie Reynolds Waldroup. James married the love of his life, Ruby Dawdy, on July 6, 1968, in Greenville, Texas.  James and Ruby settled in Greenville where James started his own business James & Sons Upholstery which he ran for 54 years. James was a family man, he loved spending time with his family, he loved taking cruises, and he loved going hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons.

James is survived by his wife Ruby, son Kevin Waldroup & wife Melissa, son Ronald Waldroup & wife Channa, grandchildren Michael Waldroup, Ty McDowell, Cody Waldroup, Lucas Waldroup and Emma Grace Waldroup.

James is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Kay Waldroup and Martha Franklin and son Michael James Waldroup.

Pallbearers will be John Clark, Wes Goodwin, Jonathan Dawdy, Terry Driggers, Michael Key and Ricky Nelson.
