Janis Lanell (Hamilton) Minter, 82, of Greenville, Texas, passed away on February 6, 2025. She was born on April 22, 1942, in Bryan, Texas, to Jesse “Jack” Gordon Hamilton and Lela (Atkins) Hamilton.

Janis was a Christian woman who loved Jesus. She found comfort and inspiration in the teachings of Billy Graham, whom she enjoyed reading and listening to. A gifted crocheter, Janis also loved reading her Bible and doing word searches, finding peace and joy in these activities. Above all, Janis was known for her giving nature, always willing to help anyone in need. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her.

Janis was a beloved member of Covenant Fellowship in Greenville, Texas, and worked for the federal government as a secretary at the Office of Defense.

She was a loving mother to her children: Kayte Minter, Linda Jones, and Carl Minter. Janis was also a proud grandmother to Ginny Dixon, Wayne Zbikowski, Thomas Zbikowski, Timothy Zbikowski, Michael Lowery and a cherished great-grandmother to James Dixon, Sarah Dixon, Kolton Zbikowski, Ellie Zbikowski, Morgan Lowery, Lexie Lowery, and Clark Lowery, and four step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Maudalu Willis; sister-in-law, Joanne Jones; nieces and nephews; as well as a host of extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her and her beloved cat, Scooter, who brought her much comfort and companionship.

Janis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel Wayne Minter; brother, Jackie Merle Hamilton; brothers-in-law, David Minter and Jim Minter; and sister-in-law, Sue Presley.

A Graveside Visitation will be held at Lynch Memorial Park in Greenville, Texas on February 13, 2025 at 10:00 am with Committal Service to immediately follow at 10:30 am. A Memorial Service will be held at Covenant Fellowship Greenville at 11:30 am the same day.

Janis will be remembered for her unwavering faith, kindness, generosity, and love for others. She touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
