Funeral service for Jeanette Martin Plunkett, age 80, of Quinlan will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Quinlan Funeral Home with Shannon Salsman and Eddie Adair officiating. Jonathan Duncan, Christopher Chapin, Steven Duncan, Courtney Kirby, Briana Campbell, Kay Lynn Rowan, Vanessa Fitzgerald, and Olivia Ward will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Quinlan Funeral Home. Mrs. Plunkett passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021 at her home.
Jeanette was born on October 15, 1941 in Rural Mesquite, Dallas County, TX to Preston William and Jennie May Martin. She married Henry Plunkett. Jeanette enjoyed crochet, reading, TV game shows, singing hymns, and playing “42” dominoes. Her most rewarding occupation was being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by sister, Kay Krebs of Palestine; daughters, Carrol Elizabeth Blackwell and husband, Richard of Wills Point, Kathy Elaine Johnson and husband, Donny of Quinlan, Mayette Jeanette Rowan of Garland; sons, Alvin Fate Rowan, Jr. of Quinlan, Jesse Jene Rowan of Quinlan; grandchildren, Jonathan Duncan, Steven Duncan, Christopher Chapin, Ashley Edge, Courtney Kirby, Briana Campbell, KayLynn Rowan, Jesse Porter, Vanessa Fitzgerald, Olivia Ward; five great-granddaughters, five great-grandsons, one great-great-granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; son, Preston Marvin Chapin; granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth Duncan, Veronica Nichole Rowan; great-grandson, Jaxon Fate Hoffman-Carnation; sisters, Joy Palmer, Ann Dean, Jean Elizabeth Martin, Carrol Lynn Holloway; brothers, J.W. Martin, Preston W. (Bill) Martin, Michael Lane Martin.
